Fusion Specialties has Mexican production facilities fulfill record order
El Paso, Texas, May 13, 2013 – Fusion Specialties’ Ciudad Juarez, Mexico plant recently manufactured and delivered 35,000 polyurethane mannequins to a major U.S. retailer. The life-sized figures were produced using a rotational mold process in polyurethane, rather than fiberglass, because of the superior durability of the former material. In addition to its greater strength, mannequins made of polyurethane can be produced at higher volumes with shorter lead times.
Fusion Specialties manufactures in Mexico in partnership with the Tecma Group of Companies. Tecma performs the human resource tasks, accounting, customs and logistics operations, as well as other functions that are non-core to manufacturing, while Fusion concentrates on the design, manufacture, quality and delivery of its products. In addition to its production facility in Ciudad Juarez, Fusion Specialties warehouses and distributes its mannequins from an El Paso location.
According to Rich Moran, Executive Vice President of Operations at Fusion, “Getting a large order such as this one out the door presented a challenge to our company. Tecma’s efforts were instrumental to our success in that their human resources professionals helped us to staff up to the 465 workers that we needed to complete and deliver the order.”
