Maquiladora Industry Labor Reform in 2013
Humberto Gayou, of Lexcorp Abogados (Lawyers) in Ciudad Juarez, a maquiladora industry expert, spoke on recent Mexican labor reforms and their impact on the Maquiladora Industry.
Gayou’s presentation examines modifications to Mexican labor law, including changes that allow for the payment of an hourly wage, that clearly define the legal bases for termination and clearly define how collective matters will be dealt with.
As a result of changes to Mexican labor laws maquiladora industry manufacturers will be able to effectively and successfully compete in global markets.
