Spin Master and the Tecma Group partner to get a head start on spreading holiday cheer
Canadian and US based companies Spin Master and the Tecma Group get together to kick off the holiday season.
Spin Master, a Toronto-based company that engages in designing, developing, manufacturing, distributing, and marketing of consumer products for children worldwide, and the Tecma Group, a provider of manufacturing support, or “shelter,” services recently teamed up for the purpose of getting a head start on spreading the yuletide cheer this year.
Together, Spin Master and the Tecma Group celebrated the first anniversary of the Toy Movement. The Movement was initiated in December of 2014 by top Spin Master executives Ronnen Harary and Ben Gadbois as a program that would serve the purpose of linking them with business in a partnership to bring the joy of toys and fun to children living in challenging circumstances. While Harary expressed that the Toy Movement is but a “small gesture,” it “gives children the opportunity to play, learn and grow.” As for Gadbois, he finds that it is encouraging to be able to partner with businesses that are “willing to make the effort to help disadvantaged children living in challenging circumstances.”
The Tecma Group, led by its president and CEO, Alan Russell, donated the space, the manpower and other resources required to wrap and distribute approximately 3,500 toys to children between the ages of six and twelve in seven chosen school in one of Mexico’s largest border towns, Ciudad Juarez. Students at three Juarez schools received their gifts on Tuesday, November 17th, while children at the remaining four schools will be the recipients of their toys during the month of December.
Russell expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to collaborate with Spin Master in its efforts to spread holiday cheer among the city’s young by saying that, “the Tecma Group is extremely happy to have the opportunity to work with Spin Master to make a difference in the lives of these children.”
Distribution of gifts to children in Mexico by Spin Master and the Tecma Group is only one of three similar activities that the Toronto-based company has planned for the near future. For more information on the Toy Movement, visit the organization’s website.
